MSA 80 Series Towing Mirrors FAQ
Which Land Cruiser 80 Series models do these fit?
Our MSA 4x4 Towing Mirrors are designed specifically for the Toyota Land Cruiser 80 Series (1990–1997). They utilize the factory three-bolt mounting pattern on the door, making them a direct replacement for GXL, VX, Sahara, and Standard models.
Can I upgrade from manual to electric mirrors?
If your 80 Series has factory electric mirrors (standard on GXL/Sahara), the TM2402 and TM2403 models are plug-and-play. If you have manual mirrors (Standard models), the TM2400 and TM2401 are the correct fit. While you can physically mount electric mirrors to a manual door, you would need to custom-wire the adjustment switch for them to function.
How do the mirrors rotate for towing?
The mirror head features a unique pivot. For daily driving, you can keep the head in a horizontal position. When towing a caravan or boat, simply rotate the head 90 degrees to a vertical position and extend the arm outwards. This provides a massive vertical field of view, allowing you to see both the road and the top of your trailer clearly.
Do these mirrors vibrate on corrugated roads?
Unlike cheap clip-on extensions or low-quality replicas, genuine MSA mirrors are engineered for the outback. They feature a heavy-duty internal mounting plate and robust pivot joints designed to stay rock-steady even on the most corrugated tracks in Australia.
How do these mirrors help with blind spots?
Each MSA mirror assembly contains two pieces of glass: a large flat main mirror for true distance and a lower convex spotter mirror. This combination significantly reduces blind spots, making lane changes and reversing much safer in a large vehicle like the 80 Series.
