Rated Recovery Points FAQ
Why can't I use my factory tie-down hooks for recovery?
Factory tie-down hooks are designed for vehicle transport on ships or trucks, not for the immense kinetic forces of a 4WD snatch recovery. Using them for recovery can lead to catastrophic failure, causing the hook to tear off and become a lethal projectile. Rated Recovery Points are the only safe option for off-road extraction.
What models are these recovery points compatible with?
We stock Heavy Duty Recovery Points for a wide range of Toyota models, including the 70 Series (76, 78, 79), 80 Series, 100/105 Series, 200 Series, and Prado 120 Series, as well as the N70 Hilux.
Are these recovery points "Rated"?
Yes. Every recovery point we sell is precision-engineered from high-tensile steel and subjected to rigorous destructive testing. They are clearly marked with a Working Load Limit (WLL), providing the certified strength needed for safe snatch strap, winch, or bridle recoveries.
Will they fit with my aftermarket bull bar?
Our recovery points are designed for seamless integration with most popular bull bars and underbody protection systems. They utilize existing factory chassis mounting points to ensure the most structural fitment possible without requiring permanent vehicle modifications.
Can I use soft shackles with these points?
Absolutely. The recovery points feature radiused edges specifically designed to prevent damage to your recovery gear. This makes them compatible with both traditional bow shackles and modern soft shackles, offering you versatility and safety in the bush.
