Snap Shades FAQ
How do Snap Shades attach to the vehicle?
Snap Shades feature high-strength magnets embedded directly into the shade frame. Since most Land Cruiser and Prado models have a metal window surround, the shades simply "snap" onto the frame. For vehicles with plastic trim in certain areas, small adhesive metal clips are provided to ensure a perfect, secure fit.
Can I still roll my windows down with the shades installed?
Yes. This is the biggest advantage of Snap Shades. Because they are mounted to the door frame and not the glass, you can fully lower or raise your windows without having to remove the shades. This provides filtered ventilation while keeping bugs out and maintaining UV protection.
How much UV protection do they provide?
Snap Shades are laboratory-tested to block 84.6% of UVA and UVB rays. This significantly reduces the temperature inside the cabin and protects young children and pets from direct sun exposure and heat exhaustion during long summer drives.
Are they specific to my Land Cruiser model?
Yes. We don't sell "universal" shades. Every set of Snap Shades is custom-fitted to the exact window dimensions of your specific vehicle generation. Whether you have a 76 Series Wagon, a 200 Series Sahara, or the new 250 Prado, the shades will follow the glass line perfectly for a factory-look finish.
Are Snap Shades legal to use while driving?
Snap Shades are intended for use on rear passenger windows. They are perfectly legal for use while driving when installed on the rear side windows, as they provide sun protection for passengers without obstructing the driver's primary field of view through the front windscreen and front side mirrors.
