Once you change to extractors off the side of the head, you will gain up to 10% improved performance just by letting the gasses flow out of the motor *. This allows the motor to work easier and you will see an improvement in performance and fuel economy.
We make our own extractors. We mandrel bend and manufacture our extractors using 2mm wall thickness tube. This reduces the likelihood of cracking and any other weaknesses in the pipe work. Unlike other suppliers who use pressed merge collectors we have found laser cut merge collectors to give the best strength and flow possible.
We have found through research and development that a 2 1/2” exhaust system performs better than any other size for this vehicle. Mandrel bent, welded and manufactured in our workshop in South East Queensland, this high quality exhaust system includes:
- Beaudesert Exhaust’s own Extractors – 2mm wall thickness, laser cut merge collectors
- Ceramic coating of extractors is standard
- Replacement stud kit for the cylinder head supplied
- Double braided stainless steel flex joint standard on all systems – inner and outer braid makes the flex joint stronger
- Perforated straight through muffler as standard
- Polished stainless steel tip is standard on 441 grade stainless steel systems
- 2 bolt 10mm 304 grade stainless steel flange plates
- Replacement block rubbers supplied
- Reinforced brackets with supports – 5mm 304 grade stainless steel flat bar for quality and strength

Is this exhaust system designed specifically for the naturally aspirated 1HZ engine?
Yes. The 1HZ 4.2L diesel engine is famous for its reliability, but it is also known for being quite sluggish due to restrictive factory exhaust manifolds and piping. This 3-inch system is precision-tuned to optimize the exhaust scavenging of the naturally aspirated 1HZ, helping to unlock a bit more responsiveness and torque that the engine desperately needs, especially when fully loaded.
Will I notice a significant performance difference on my 1HZ?
While the 1HZ isn't a high-horsepower engine, it benefits greatly from improved airflow. You will notice improved throttle response and a smoother power delivery, particularly when accelerating from a standstill or climbing inclines. By reducing backpressure, you allow the engine to work more efficiently, which also helps improve fuel economy over long distances.
Does the system eliminate the "drone" common in 80 Series exhaust upgrades?
Absolutely. Cabin drone is a major complaint with generic exhaust systems on the 80 Series. We have specifically engineered our muffler and resonator assembly to target and eliminate those low-frequency cabin vibrations. You get a deeper, more refined engine note, but the cabin remains quiet and comfortable for long-distance highway touring.
Is this system a direct bolt-on for my 80 Series ute?
Yes, it is a complete bolt-on kit. We include all necessary gaskets, high-tensile hardware, and heavy-duty, laser-cut hangers that line up perfectly with your vehicle's factory mounting points. You won't need to cut or weld anything; it is designed to be fitted in a home garage with standard tools.
